Para-Vasudeva represents the Pancharata ideology of the transcendental para form of Narayana. Vaikuntha is also Moksha and is surrounded by liberated souls like Ananta, Garuda and a hosts of liberated souls or Muktas. In Vaikuntha, along with his Consorts, Lakshmi, Bhuma Devi and Nila Devi who are also His avatars, Lord Vishnu assumes his Para Form. PARA FORM: This is the supreme form of Hs transcendant being. Thus in the Vaishnavite school of thoughts, Lord Vishnu manifests himself in five major forms:ġ. ![]() Out of love and compassion, he voluntarily assumes bodily forms for devotees to gain access to his satguna subtle form. The central doctrine of the Panchantra Agama is that Lord Vishnu is Absolute – Brahman. Another popular source in the Vaishnava Agamas in Vishnu Samhita.Įach Agama consist of four sections: (i) Philosophy (ii) Mental discipline (iii) Rules for Temple construction and (iv) Religious practices. Panchatantra work are stories and is not to be confused with Agamas. The Vaishnavites consider the Pancharatra Agamas to be the most authoritative of all Agamas. Shaktas recognise 77 Agamas and a whole range of Tantric texts. Shaivites have 28 Agamas and 108 Upagamas. The Saiva Agamas praise Lord Siva and the Sakti Agamas praise Shakti as the Mother of the Universe. The Vaishnava Agamas praise Almighty Vishnu. Like Upanishads there are many Agamas.They can be broadly divided into three main groups according to the deity which is the object of worship – Vishnu, Shiva or Shakti.These three groups have given rise to Vaishnavism, Saivism and Saktism. They are a group of literature dealing with the worship of God in many forms and prescribe detailed courses of discipline for the devotee. Brahma Sutras were authored by Sage Badarayana, better known as Veda Vyasa.Īgamas are Smriti literature. They are also known as Vedanta Sutras, describing in depth the nature of Brahman- the Absolute. PANCHARATRA AGAMAS: The Brahma Sutras are a number of concise statements regarding Upanishadic teachings. ![]()
